Airfield Line Marking at Welshpool Airport

Refreshed yellow taxiway markings at Welshpool Airport

Tomras Road Markings Ltd completed a two-day line-marking project at Welshpool Airport, refreshing existing runway and taxiway markings to provide clearer guidance across the airfield.

Runway and Taxiway Marking Refresh

The existing markings had become faded and required renewal. Our team refreshed the airfield layout, including yellow taxiway guidance lines, taxiway centre lines, turning markings, directional arrows, white runway markings and operational symbols.

The completed work produced a significant visual improvement, leaving the runway and taxiway markings clearer and easier to identify.

Completed in Two Days

The project was completed over two days. Tomras planned and delivered the work around the airport’s operational requirements, allowing the markings to be refreshed efficiently while minimising disruption.

Clear Runway and Taxiway Guidance

Airfield markings must remain easy to distinguish from the cockpit and from ground vehicles operating around the site. At Welshpool Airport, the renewed yellow taxiway guidance lines and centre lines were completed alongside white runway markings, directional arrows and operational symbols. As a result, refreshing the complete group of markings created a clearer and more consistent visual layout than treating isolated faded areas.

The two-day programme was organised around the airport’s operational requirements. Work areas and the sequence of application were planned so that runway and taxiway sections could be refreshed efficiently while access restrictions and safe site coordination were maintained. For further industry context, the UK Civil Aviation Authority’s CAP 168 aerodrome guidance covers operational procedures, physical characteristics and visual aids at licensed aerodromes.
